Best Beaches of Punta Cana
It begins in the north at Uvero Alto Beach, followed by the famous beaches of Macao, Arena Gorda, Bavaro, Los Corales & El Cortecito, Bibijagua, and Jellyfish. Further out you will find the beaches of Cabeza de Toro, Cabo Engaño, Punta Cana, and Juanillo. The coastline of Punta Cana extends 50 kilometers. The most extensive part of the beach in Bavaro is considered a national treasure by the Dominican government and “the best in the world” by UNESCO, due to its rich flora and fauna, and for its natural beauty. Its possession of the most important point of arrival in the country, the Punta Cana International Airport where 68% of all tourists who come to visit the Dominican Republic arrive thru. Punta Cana has a vast nightlife, luxurious hotels, real estate development, private residences, malls, gift shops, world-class golf courses, sports activities, exquisite and varied gastronomic offers, as well as cultural entertainment.
LOS CORALES @ PLAYA BAVARO
While resorts line the coastal strip, there is beach access from outside roads and restaurants, such as Bávaro (Los Corales, Huracán Café, Soles). With some exceptions, there are no restrictions on tourists walking from one hotel beach to another, although there are many patches of undeveloped land tracts between them. The most developed section of the east coast resort strip, the Bávaro area is dotted with hotels, restaurants, and gift shops right on the beach. Most of this stretch of beach is walkable. Here you can book beach activities, ranging from parasailing to speed boat riding.
EL CORTECITO @ PLAYA BAVARO
Without restrictions on access, Cortecito and Los Corales beach, located in the heart of Bávaro, is a small fishing village where you can find restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shopping centers, and many gifts and craft shops. Many excursions leave from this beach.There is beach access from outside roads and restaurants, such as Bávaro El Cortecito (Lio Beach, Captain Cook, and Onno’s). El Cortecito is an area that made Bávaro famous, where boat taxis arrive to bring tourists to the restaurants on the beach. This is a very commercial and residential developed area of Bávaro beach.
BIBIJAGUA @ PLAYA BAVARO
Playa Bavaro, the main attraction of this luxurious and exotic area of Punta Cana is the pristine beaches that stretch for more than 50 kilometers bordering the meeting point between the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean. Its blue waters of multiple shades are complemented by white sands, creating an unforgettable impression on visitors. JELLYFISH @ PLAYA BAVARO
Playa Bavaro is the most developed resort area on the East Coast and is dotted with beachfront condos, hotels, restaurants, and gift shops. It has a strip of brilliant white sand of approximately 50 kilometers surrounded by coral reefs. Most of this section is perfect for walks as well as for activities on the beach, from parasailing to speed boat racing. JUANILLO BEACH @ CAP CANA
Juanillo beach in Cap Cana offers kilometers of white sand; With turquoise waters so clear that not for nothing is it known as one of the best beaches in the Dominican Republic.It has a large selection of tropical food and drinks, as well as entertainment and concerts. Beach activities include volleyball, snorkeling, kayaking, and horseback riding.
PLAYA BLANCA @ PUNTA CANA RESORT & CLUB

PLAYA MACAO - SURFING
Declared by Unesco as one of the best beaches, Macao is a public beach located just 20 or 30 minutes from most hotels. Surf lessons are available if conditions permit, and you can also find small kiosks where snacks are served along the beach. The adventure 4-wheel all-terrain vehicles zoom around this beach, but it is also large enough for enjoyment and relaxation, The Macao Surf Camp offers surfing lessons for people between the ages of 10 and 70 on weekends, weather permitting.
PLAYA LIMON @ MICHES
Right behind the famous Montaña Redonda and Lemon Lagoon in the neighboring village of Miches, you will find this paradisiac well hidden beach. The thatched-roofed palapa is the signature of Huracán Café. Jellyfish
Famous restaurant located on the very beach of Bávaro and characterized by having a cuisine specializing in seafood and seafood from the region. On the beach, this place stands out for its rustic design of wood, stone, and cane roofs. Its specialty is fresh seafood. Reserva Ecológica Ojos Indígenas
It’s a privately-owned protected area that belongs to and is operated by Punta Cana Ecological Foundation. This reserve, consisting of lowlands subtropical forest, covers 1,500 acres of land dedicated to conservation, investigation, and recreation. It is a forest reserve with 12 lagoons, of which three are apt for swimming and provides hábitat for an abundance of birds, reptiles, insects, and other local flora and fauna. Apart from this, they have an Ecological Park with interpretive trails that feature distinct attractions related to the natural and cultural history of the island, including an iguana hábitat, petting zoo, sugarcane exhibition, and fruit tree garden.
